  • I have had the pleasure of working with Brenna as a colleague, friend and coach.  When I first started working at UCSD as a fitness professional, Brenna instantly became a friend I knew I could count on and trust for advice.  In my free time, I would attend Brenna’s Total Body Circuit class which always gave me wonderful ideas for my own classes and challenged me both mentally and physically.  As our relationship grew, Brenna began giving me personal training sessions that were unlike any other.  She tailored each workout to my specific needs, never had me doing the same routine twice, and found time to educate me on topics I thought I already knew well.  Brenna’s humble personality and breadth of knowledge are just some of the many reasons I enjoyed being one of her clients.

  • I began working with Brenna to improve my balance, core stability and muscle strength.  I have not only achieved these three goals but I have also enjoyed the variety and creativity of the workouts.  The continual change-up of exercises, which incorporate a mixture of apparatus, keeps me engaged and the muscles reacting.  I appreciate the attention to technique to create a safe and effective program.  The sessions are challenging and Brenna’s sunny disposition really helps me get through each workout.  Plus, the luxury of having Brenna come directly to my office makes training a convenient and needed part of a hectic day!

  • I have had the pleasure to take several of Brenna’s core and fitness classes over the past years and to work out with her over the past five years.  Brenna’s classes have been challenging, well planned and organized.  She explains all exercises thoroughly and demonstrates before each class.  During the class Brenna has the ability to identify any areas that may need attention and is able to correct form to avoid potential for injury and to customize a routine based on your goals and needs.  Brenna is passionate about fitness.  I admire her knowledge and understanding of exercise and her ability to identify strengths/weaknesses.  She not only knows her stuff but works out as hard as anyone I know.  Working out with Brenna has improved my strength, agility and speed which is exactly what I aim for with my workouts, being an avid racquetball and squash player.  I highly recommend Brenna to anyone looking to start working out or a more advanced athlete looking to fine tune or reach the next level in fitness.

  • Brenna is terrific!  She devises an exercise plan for each session that is fresh and fun, challenges but doesn’t overwhelm, and is matched to my goals and my abilities.

  • Brenna, I loved the summer camp you organized.  I canʼt think of a better way to combine friendship, conditioning, and the outdoors!  You challenged me to try things I would not have done on my own.  You were sensitive to and accommodated my disabilities in the group setting.  The warm-up and cool-down techniques you used kept me from getting overly sore and made me excited to attend daily.  I have been to many group workouts where I did not feel the same level of personal attention that you gave to me.  It was nice to know the trainer was watching me personally and willing to help me find the correct positioning for each exercise.

  • As a competitive masters’ bike racer I have come to understand that core and upper body strength is an important component of my training program.  This is especially true as I get older.  With Brenna’s help in assessing my weaknesses and introducing exercises to strengthen my upper body and my flexibility I feel much stronger on the bike.  The energy she brings to the workout sessions really helps in motivating me to push as hard as I can.  Her attention to detail has also kept me injury free when trying new exercises and activities.  Having worked with her over the past few years I can say I am a much more balanced athlete because of her program.  She is also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to diet.  She absolutely practices what she preaches and her enthusiasm to live a healthy lifestyle gets me excited to try and do the same.  As a trainer she is the full package.

  • Brenna is an amazing teacher!  I always had trouble understanding how to translate simple instructions such as “keep your spine neutral” into action.  I therefore never felt confident in working out correctly.  Brenna has been the only instructor who recognized this.  By explaining how my body or body parts should feel she transformed my ability to do the exercises correctly and to improve and get stronger!

  • Brenna will give you a full body workout.  I look forward to her class; I know I will feel great and I am doing something good for my body.  Her classes are always a challenge, but modifications are given.  Make the class yours and you will feel it the next day.  Brenna always adds new exercises to use with the ball, body bar, weights, and more; it is never routine.  Brenna always has time to talk with you and is there to help you reach your goals.  I wish we could work out with her three days a week!

  • Brenna has been my trainer for several years.  She is very knowledgeable about the biomechanics of exercise and the progressions for overall strength and range-of-motion advancement.  I had a knee joint replacement a year ago and found it is extremely important to have an expert like Brenna overseeing the transition from post-surgery, prescribed short-term physical therapy to full recovery. There is at least a year post-surgery where regaining range-of-motion and strength is critical and Brenna skillfully applies the techniques which allow optimal recovery.

  • Brenna’s classes have helped me immensely through my cancer diagnosis and treatment.  With the variety of strength training and cardio, my body was in great shape to handle surgery and I recovered from surgery in record time.  Three weeks after my last chemotherapy session, I started up classes again and with Brenna’s modifications, I gained strength and got my body back after less than six months.  Chemotherapy pummeled me and left me very weak so this was a great feat!  Going to Brenna’s classes religiously, a year of chemotherapy ended, I had the strength to walk 60 miles in three days.  More importantly, I have my confidence back.  I feel great…how a normal women in her mid-30’s should feel!
